Panther Lake is a small freshwater lake known for still water and healthy fishing.
Panther Lake sits southwest of Lake Stevens, north of Monroe and a short drive East from Snohomish WA. The lake itself covers about 45 acres at an elevation of 459 feet, and is ringed by residential neighborhoods and properties that grew up around it over the decades.
There's no formal lake association, so most neighbors connect through informal community groups on Nextdoor or Facebook.
Since 1990, Snohomish County staff and volunteer lake monitors have tracked Panther Lake's water quality as part of the county's Lake Management Program — one of the longer-running citizen monitoring efforts on any lake in the county. Curious how the lake got here, or what's living beneath the surface? See the History and Ecology pages.
Panther Lake's no-gas-motor rule keeps it calm year-round — a favorite for anglers, kayakers, and canoers alike.
Good shoreline access plus a boat launch make this a reliable lowland lake for anglers.
A public boat launch sits at the west side of the lake. Internal combustion motors aren't allowed, per Snohomish County code — so the water stays calm for swimmers, paddlers and electric motor boats.
Birds, trees, and wildlife are among the favorite parts of the lake — it's a spot where nature is close at hand.
